Army attacks Houthis in Baqem center

The Army attacked on Saturday Houthi militia sites in the center of Baqem district in Sa'ada province in northern Yemen in conjunction with the launching of a series of raids by the Arab coalition fighters.

The Ministry of Defense site quoted the commander of the 102nd Brigade Special Forces Brigadier Yasser al-Harethi as saying that the army launched the attack after Houthis attempt to attack the army's site in the vicinity of the district center.

Al-Harethi said that the army made advances at the center of the district and approached government buildings. He explained that the coalition warplanes supported the army during the confrontations.

He added that the Arab coalition warplanes launched a series of raids on the Houthi sites, including their reinforcements.

Al-Harethi said that the warplanes and the military clashes against the Houthi militias killed tens of Houthi militias, including leaders.

Some sites that were liberated by the army are going to remove   landmines and explosive devices left by the militias, he concluded.
