On Monday, 500 families in al-Jah area of The Beit al-Faqih district received food aid from the UAE Red Crescent.

The assistance included food baskets distributed to the village of Al-Marazeq and other communities in wadi al-Jah to alleviate the suffering of citizens returning to their villages from camps for displaced persons.

Al-Jah, south of Hodeidah, is one of the areas hardest hit by the war imposed by Houthi militias.

The village of Al-Marazeq, the highest of wadi al-Jah, continues to occasionally be subjected to shelling by Houthi militias stationed eastward between al-Husseinia farms as well as minefields laid by the militias on their farms, which have prevented them from living their lives normally.

The UAE Red Crescent Authority launched its food aid program for December with a similar convoy of hundreds of displaced people from their villages in al-Barh area to al-Ghalil area of The Distributed District of Taiz province.

Food aid from the UAE over the past month has covered more than 3,600 displaced and poor families on the West Coast.
