Hundreds of academics from various faculties at the University of Aden staged a vigil tuesday morning in front of the gate of the Qasr al-Asayq Adan, calling on the prime minister to adopt non-staff grades and transfer the salaries of staff at other facilities to the University of Aden.

Participants in the vigil said the prime minister was asked to be fair and to direct the ministries of civil service and finance to adopt financial and transport reinforcements.

Dr. Ali al-Qahtani, chairman of the coordinating committee, said that academic appointees have spent years in academic work without paying attention to them, and they continue their work in various colleges of the university free of charge.

Al-Qahtani called on the prime minister to respond to the demands of the appointees and to lift the injustice.

Participants confirmed their right to take steps in the coming days, such as a general strike or the reservation of student score sheets.
