On Sunday, the Deputy Governor of Al-Hodeidah, Walid Al-Qadimi, accused the United Nations of providing cover to the Houthi militia by destroying the infrastructure and factories that employed more than 40,000 workers.

He said, in a speech during an inspection visit to the camp of the General Security Forces and the Special Security Forces in Hodeidah Governorate, that the Stockholm Agreement, which was signed a year ago, has provided legal cover for the Houthi militias to commit their crimes without accountability.

He added that the United Nations and the international community have committed to ensuring that the militias implement the Sweden Agreement and withdraw from the city and ports, noting that the agreement spends its first year without the commitment of the Houthi militias to its terms.

He stressed that the Stockholm Agreement provides for the presence of local security forces to secure the Hodeidah governorate, and that the security forces are ready to do so.

In the event that the Houthi militias fail to abide by the agreement, the joint forces will enter the city to assume their responsibility to protect civilians.

He accused the Houthi militia of continuing to violate the agreement by bombing the populated areas in Hay, al-Tahita, al-Jabaliya, and al-Drahami on a daily basis.
