Houthi militia mines have claimed 500 civilians in 18 districts of Taiz within 5 years

Landmine Monitor in Yemen has revealed that about 500 civilians have been killed by mines laid by the Iranian Houthi militia militia in Yemen, in Taiz Governorate, since 2015.

The Yemeni Landmine Monitor said in a recent statistic that 18 out of 23 mine-contaminated districts are in Taiz Governorate, noting that six engineering teams are working in the clearance and removal process in each of the districts of Mouze, Al-Waziah, Jabal Hubashi and Sabr Al-Mawadem, and in the Al-Mudhafar (west) and Salah (east) regions ) from the city.

He added, that the Houthi militia used modern techniques of mines, with diagonal and guided fragments, and other optical and thermal electrical sensors.

The Observatory pointed out that the victims of mines in Taiz since 2015 until today amounted to 484 civilian deaths, among 162 children, 117 women and 205 men, while 1,245 injuries among civilians including 287 children, 193 women and 765 men.
