Sons of Maj. Gen. Al-Subaihi: The prisoners ’agreement is a“ stab in the back. ”

 The sons of Major General Mahmoud Al-Subaihi, the former Minister of Defense, recently expressed their rejection of the prisoners' agreement between the legitimate government and the Houthis, blaming President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi for the consequences and the responsibility for what may result.

The son of Major General Mahmoud Ahmed Salem, the prisoner for the Houthis, in a message addressed to President Hadi: They have seen the agreement between the representatives of the Sharia and the Houthis to release 1500 prisoners, including 900 prisoners from the Houthis and 250 from the legitimacy, in addition to only one of the four captive leaders.

 They affirmed their rejection of "this deal that you concluded with the Houthis and under the auspices of the representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations, who proved to be dishonest of his responsibility."


They also affirmed, "This deal does not pay attention to the desire of our people, nor does it pay attention to the sacrifices of the sons of Sabiha and all the people of our country and the martyrs and wounded they gave, and the sons of Sabiha are still in the lines of confrontations to this day," bearing President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi the consequences of this deal and the responsibility of what may arise  About it as a historical responsibility before God and our great people.


 A joint statement by the United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths and the International Committee of the Red Cross on the results of the third meeting of the prisoner exchange committee, on Sunday, announced the approval of representatives of the legitimate government and the Houthis to a detailed plan to complete the first large-scale official exchange of prisoners since the beginning of the conflict.

It added, "At the conclusion of a seven-day meeting, the parties decided to start immediately the exchange of lists for the next issue," stressing that "this is a step towards fulfilling the parties' commitment to gradually release all detainees associated with the conflict in accordance with the Stockholm Convention."
