A tribal source told "Newsyemen", on Sunday, that the Houthi militia had taken control of the city of Al-Hazm, the capital of Al-Jawf Governorate, northeast of Yemen, after fierce battles with government forces.

This comes a day after the Houthi militia completed controlling and stationing Al-Ghail district and deploying its militants in the area.

The sources added that the Houthi militia moved a large force to the Salamat area in Al-Hazm district, took control of it and then advanced towards the center of Al-Jawf Governorate.

The sources pointed out that the militia entered the city of Al-Hazm, at noon on Saturday, and took control of it, while the government forces withdrew, to the Labanat camp.

In the context, sources reported that many of the local and military leaders affiliated with the Sharia have left Al-Jawf Governorate to the city of Marib.

Earlier, a local source said that the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, targeted the city of Al-Hazm with a ballistic missile that fell on residential neighborhoods in the city.

The source stated that the missile shelling caused casualties among civilians without knowing specific numbers of the victims, due to the difficulty in communicating in Al-Jawf Governorate as a result of the severing of communications by the Houthi militia.

The Houthi militia had prepared about 17 attack patterns on the Al-Ghail district, which is about thirty-five kilometers west of Al-Hazm, the center of Al-Jawf governorate, and was able to control it.
