A military commander escaped an assassination attempt in the city of Marib

A military commander in the Sixth Military Region survived an assassination attempt by an explosive device in the center of Ma'rib Governorate, eastern Yemen.
Local sources said that an explosive device had exploded, on Friday, with a military crew in which Colonel Engineer Ali Al-Shalif, commander of the 9th Battalion, 141st Brigade, and several of his companions were traveling in the city of Marib.
The sources confirmed that Colonel Al-Shalif survived the assassination attempt, while one of his companions, Sadiq Werna, was martyred.
It should be noted that the targeting of military leaders has increased in the areas controlled by government forces in Ma'rib Governorate by planting explosive devices on the main roads, which resulted in the death and injury of numbers of officers and soldiers
