Taiz, NewsYemen:

The extremist current in the Brotherhood, the Yemen branch, managed to thwart the Cairo Citadel Festival, a day after its launch in the city of Taiz in central Yemen.

The artist Ammar Al-Azzaki expressed his apology to the public for the continuation of artistic activities after the decision of the Governor of Taiz Nabil Shamsan clashed with the refusal of the leadership of the axis to move the venue of the concert from Cairo Castle to Martyrs Square.

The decision of the artist Ammar Al-Azzaki came after the issuance of a memorandum from the leadership of the Taiz axis, Khaled Fadel, to the governor about the danger of holding the artistic concert in Al-Shuhada Square, east of the city of Taiz, as it is in contact with the Houthi militia.

The Director of the Culture Office, Abdel-Khaleq Seif, had announced the transfer of the celebration venue to a third place, which is the Al-Taawun Park Hall, but the apology of the artist Ammar Al-Azzaki for the completion of the activities put an end to the battle between the leadership of the governorate and the axis.

Local activists expressed their regret at the end of the Cairo Citadel Festival after the killing of a young man and the injury of others in a mysterious incident and the ensuing collision of the governor's directives and the leadership of the axis.

Activists considered the failure of the festival a victory for the extremist current of the Muslim Brotherhood, led by the extremist preacher Abdullah Al-Adini, who with his supporters launched a massive campaign of incitement against the celebration of the holiday, and considered the festival a place for mixing between the sexes.
