A Houthi governor is a member of the “Brotherhood” entity supported by Qatar and Oman

A senior leader in the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, holds a high position in the so-called "National Salvation Council" of the Islah party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, which is backed by Qatar and Turkey.

Salem Thabet Al-Awlaki, a member of the Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council, said in a tweet on his account on "Twitter" - monitored by NewsYemen - that "the governor of Shabwa appointed by the Houthi (Awad Al-Mahout) occupies the position of a member of the Political Bureau and the official of defense and security in the backed National Salvation Council."  Omani and Qatari.

Al-Awlaki added, "This council and its members have been active in Shabwa since their alliance with the Brotherhood in 2019 against the Transitional Council and the Shabwani elite."

The southern leader concluded by saying: "This is the Houthi-Brotherhood's servitude, and this is its result."
