Washington: Two shipments of Iranian weapons were confiscated on their way to the Houthis

Today, Wednesday, the US Department of Justice announced the seizure of two shipments of Iranian weapons in the Arabian Sea.

The US Justice Department clarified that the confiscated Iranian weapons include 171 surface-to-air missiles and 8 anti-armored missiles.

It added that those weapons were on their way to the Houthis in Yemen.

It said it had seized 1.1 million barrels of Iranian oil products in the Arabian Sea.

It noted that Iranian oil shipments were confiscated from 4 tankers in the Arabian Sea while they were heading to Venezuela.

It stated that the US government had sold the confiscated Iranian oil products under a court order.  And that these measures are the largest government confiscation ever of shipments of fuel and weapons from Iran.
