American expert: The success of the "Yemeni Presidential" depends on the removal of officials linked to the "Brotherhood"

The American expert specializing in national security and the Middle East, Irina Zuckerman, said that the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen is a "promising start," noting that it "brings together the previously disparate factions as a united front against the Houthis as well as against internal corruption."

The American expert, Irina Zuckerman, promised, in an exclusive statement to "Newsman", that the formation of the council "is an official recognition for the first time of the threat posed by the Muslim Brotherhood to the authorities."

She stated that (the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council) brings together Saudi Arabia and the UAE in a unified way, and promises greater and clearer participation of the Arab coalition," according to her saying.

Meanwhile, Zukerman stressed the removal of ministers and officials in the Yemeni government who are secretly or semi-secretly associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, stressing that they are responsible for mismanagement and facilitated the successes of the Houthis on the ground.

In this context, she said: "It is important to note that apart from the dismissal of the Vice President (Ali Mohsen), who represents one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, there are a number of ministers and officials secretly or semi-secretly associated with the Muslim Brotherhood who are responsible for the mismanagement and facilitated the successes of the Houthis  On the ground".

"In order to prove its effectiveness, the council needs to move quickly to contain them and their supporters and install loyal and effective people. The Islah party must be isolated politically and ideologically," she added.

And she continued, "People on the council need to understand that the Muslim Brotherhood is fighting a long-running ideological war that requires intelligence, not just strength."

The American expert said, in the context of her statement to NewsYemen, that the Presidential Leadership Council will need to restore soft power institutions such as mosques, education, civil society organizations, and the media in order to eliminate Muslim Brotherhood recruitment efforts and disinformation at all levels and prevent future attempts to restore power from  Through infiltration, manipulation and pressure."
