Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

Political sources in Sana’a described the statements of the leaders of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, about the need to find a new regime similar to the Iranian regime as a new confirmation of the extent of the Houthi militia’s employment and association with Iran and another proof of the validity of the accusations leveled against it in this regard.

Houthi leaders, most notably Abed Al-Thawr and Ahmed Al-Washli, made statements to Al-Hawiya channel of the Houthi militia, calling for the need to change the political system and the system of government in Yemen from the current pluralistic, democratic republican system to a system similar to the system of government in Iran and based on the presence of state authorities represented by the president, government and parliament.  But they all work under the supervision of the so-called Leader of the Revolution and Supreme Leader.

The statements of the Houthi leaders included assurances that the Iranian regime is a good Islamic regime, and the most important thing that distinguishes it is the presence of a ruling authority for it, the Supreme Leader, who, according to their allegations, guarantees stability in the government and the absence of disputes and conflicts, calling for the regime in Yemen to be similar to the regime of the mullahs of Tehran.  And that the leader of the Houthi militia, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, is the supreme guide and leader of the revolution, as they call him in their speeches.

The political sources that NewsYemen spoke to commenting on the theses of the Houthi leaders said: Since their coup and taking control of state institutions on September 21, 2014, the Houthi militia hastened to try to implement the mullahs' regime in Iran.  Which is considered an arm of him in Yemen in one way or another by eroding the state's authorities and its constitutional and legal institutions.  And replacing them with new structures and institutions entrusted with the task of managing the affairs of governance and authority on the one hand, and on the other hand promoting religious concepts such as claims of divine right and guardianship.  And ideological as terms of empowerment, and political as concepts of the Supreme Leader and Leader of the Revolution.  The one who is entrusted with absolute religious, political, military and security powers so that he becomes the owner of the first and last decisions, and his decisions have a power that exceeds the power of constitutional texts.  And sometimes even the legal and religious texts, and he is what they call today the leader of knowledge, in reference to the leader of their militia, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi.

She added: The militias' statements and frankness, which began to escalate recently, are no longer in the call.  To adopt the regime of the Iranian mullahs and implement it in Yemen is a problem.  Rather, the problem lies in the fact that these militias, with their leaders, mentalities, and religious and political orientation, eliminate all others, the people, elites (of all kinds), parties, organizations, and all political and social entities. They almost limit Yemen, its people and its geography to the militias, their leaders, supporters, and the geography they control.

She continues: What the Houthi leaders are talking about reflects the fact that they only see Yemen in the geographical space they control.  The Yemeni people, with their various orientations and sectarian, political and social diversity, are summarized in the population living in the areas under its control.  The rest of the Yemeni people are no longer scattered in the governorates outside their control, whose geographical area exceeds more than 80% of the area of the Republic of Yemen.

Since taking control of the state and its institutions, the Houthi militia has embarked on a change in the production of illegitimate and unconstitutional institutional structures and granted them the powers of state institutions.  Such as the so-called General Authority for Zakat, the General Authority for Endowments, and the Supreme Council for the Management of Humanitarian and Relief Affairs.  And other institutions, in addition to their separatist practices, both with regard to customs and tax levies.  As if it is an independent country from the rest of the regions of the Republic of Yemen.  Not to mention the modifications that have been and are still being done with regard to the educational system and education curricula, especially the curricula of basic and secondary education.  Which she stuffed with her sectarian and political allegations and rumors that entrench the lies of the divine right to rule and the state and glorify its leaders, and declare its subordination and loyalty to the so-called axis of resistance led by Iran and the mullahs’ regime in it, which runs its arms in several Arab countries, of which the Houthi militia is its arm similar to the Lebanese Hezbollah in Lebanon  The Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq and the armed militias in Syria.

The political sources concluded their comment by saying: The idea of the militias and what they are posing is frightening in terms of the fact that it gives indications of the impossibility of reaching a lasting peace and a political settlement capable of steadfastness with these militias so that the war is ended, the state and its institutions are restored and the acceptance of a national partnership between all Yemeni forces, including the militias.  The latter is the consolidation of the notions that it is the only one that has the right to rule the country, while others are only allowed to be followers and loyalists.
