Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

As part of its policy to seize the property and homes of citizens, the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, continues to loot the house of the parliamentarian and member of the General People’s Congress bloc, Sheikh Hassan Sood Hafaj, which it stormed and seized more than a year ago.

Parliamentary sources in the House of Representatives, which is under the control of the Houthi militias, told NewsYemen that Houthi leaders have so far refused to vacate the house of Parliament member Sheikh Hassan Hafaj in the Al-Ashash area of Sana'a, which they occupied and brokered in violation of the constitution and laws in force.

And Sheikh Hassan Soud Ahmed Hafaj is a member of the House of Representatives for Constituency (248) of Bani Qais District, Hajjah Governorate, a member of the GPC parliamentary bloc, and one of the parliamentarians who preferred to stay in Sanaa and attend parliament sessions despite the Houthi militia’s control over him.

According to parliamentary sources, the house of Parliamentarian Hafaj, located in the Al-Ashash area, which was robbed by the militias, is a house that was in the process of completing its finishing process.  However, the Houthi militias occupied it and robbed it and prevented Representative Hafg from entering it without any constitutional or legal justifications.

The sources confirmed that the Houthi leaders rejected all mediations carried out by some leaders of the Sana’a conference and some members of Parliament to persuade the militias to vacate the house of Representative Hafaj and return it to him and prove his legal ownership of it with legally and legally sound documents, claiming that the house was built on a ground that was “disbursed from the corrupt regime,” according to their statements.

Sheikh Hafaj, one of the most prominent tribal leaders in Hajjah Governorate, was subjected to several harassment by Houthi militias in his hometown of Qais District, Hajjah.  His supporters and supporters of the militias who were forced in front of the position of the people of the district in support of Hafaj to allow him to attend the ceremony, before returning to harass him by breaking into his house and robbery in Sanaa and preventing him so far from entering it despite his proof of legal ownership of the house.

It is noteworthy that last week, the Houthi militia returned the house of the late parliamentarian Abdul Rahman Bafadel in Sanaa, after parliamentary mediation with the militia leaders, after they had occupied it and expelled his family from inside it.

Members of Parliament under the control of the Houthis are subjected to continuous violations and harassment, both in relation to their parliamentary work in Sana’a, or with regard to their movements and activities.  It is held outside the supervision of the militias.
