Aden, NewsYemen:

The UN envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, presented a new proposal to open the crossings of Taiz and other regions, in which he ruled out opening any major roads linking Taiz with other cities, while taking the proposals of the terrorist Houthi militia in full.

According to government sources, the UN envoy to Yemen surprised the legitimate government by sending a new proposal, last Sunday, to open the crossings of Taiz and other areas. The main roads he presented in his previous proposals were excluded.

These proposals came after the meeting of the UN envoy to Yemen with the Houthi delegation in the Jordanian capital, Amman, the past two days, while he did not invite the delegation of the legitimate government to attend these meetings.

The head of the Presidential Leadership Council had assured the UN envoy to Yemen a few days ago not to move to any discussions with the Houthi militias about any new files before lifting the siege on the city of Taiz and opening roads.

In this context, Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper quoted a Yemeni official as saying, "The envoy's latest proposal dropped the only main road that was among his previous proposals, and the Houthis rejected it."

The official added: "Unfortunately, not enough pressure was exerted on the Houthis to open a road for humanitarian needs, and in return pressure is being exerted on the coalition and the legitimacy to renew the truce."

He continued: "It is not logical to talk about an international agreement of four items, three of which are implemented in favor of the Houthis, while manipulating and refusing to open the roads of Taiz and the rest of the provinces."

The official warned that "Al-Houthi consumes time in every truce and will bear the consequences of its failure."
