Aden, NewsYemen:

The Supreme Judicial Council, in its meeting, on Sunday, in the capital, Aden, headed by the head of the council, Judge Mohsen bin Talib, approved the establishment of the Press and Electronic Publishing Prosecution.

The Council also approved the establishment of the Primary Antiquities Prosecution in addition to the Prosecution of Taxes, Customs and Primary Lands, as well as the Prosecution of Appeal in the north of Aden Governorate and the Prosecution of Appeal in South of Aden, as well as the establishment of the alternate prosecution.

The council's decisions raised the journalists' question about the feasibility of establishing a prosecution concerned with electronic publishing, and they were divided into two groups supporting and opposing the idea.

While the journalist, Abdullah Samih, expressed his astonishment at the establishment of this prosecution, the journalist, Majed Al-Daeri, considers it an excellent and successful step, and it is long overdue in his assessment.

While he indicated that the establishment of the prosecution should follow a penal code for electronic journalism, he believes that this prosecution is important as long as it is in order to stop the electronic journalistic chaos, control the pace of the slave market, extortion, lying and defamation in the name of the press, and sort out intruders into the profession and stop them at their own pace.

He said: "The purpose of the conflicting decision of the Supreme Judicial Council to establish a press and electronic publications and publications prosecution in Aden, and ignoring it with the presence of the press and publications prosecution existing by virtue of the law and the applicable constitution, is to create a deterrent to news sites and social networks."

added.  “Otherwise, the new esteemed council was satisfied with activating the basically existing press and publications prosecution, which it can not legally abolish except according to a new legal constitutional amendment with the approval of the majority of the legitimate parliament.”

Al-Da'ari wondered, "The most important thing now is: What is the ruling of the legally existing press and publications prosecution after this innovative, innovative establishment by the Supreme Judicial Council?"
