Sana'a, NewsYemen, exclusive:

A statement by a spokesman for the army forces revealed that the Houthi terrorist group had test-fired an anti-ship missile from Sana'a towards the Red Sea, amid a noticeable Iranian escalation to target international shipping traffic in the region.

The military spokesman for the army forces, Brigadier General Abdo Majali, said in a press statement published by the "26 September" website that there is compelling evidence of the involvement of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in carrying out the missile launch and providing logistical support to the Houthi rebels.

Considering that this threat, and other threats that preceded it with the militia's bombing of ports in the governorates of Shabwa and Hadramout and other terrorist targets, with explosive planes, undermine regional and international security.

This development comes about 48 hours after the drone attack targeted an oil tanker belonging to an Israeli businessman in the Gulf of Oman, and Iran was accused of being behind the incident. On Friday morning, Reuters reported on the British Maritime Trade Operations Authority that a drone believed to be Iranian surrounded a British ship in the Gulf of Oman.

This comes in light of a clear escalation of Iranian threats to target international navigation traffic in the region during the past months, with a review of what it says is the growth of its naval forces and that it managed to kill 52 American soldiers during a year and a half of conflict at sea, according to the claim of the naval commander of the Revolutionary Guards Brigadier General Ali Reza Tanksiri.

Last month, the Iranian military commander reviewed, in a televised interview, the capabilities of the Iranian navy, which he said was about to launch two locally manufactured battleships, one of which could launch 60 drones from its roof, while the other could fire missiles at a range of 20 to 150 kilometers.

While the man repeated the Iranian regime's threats towards Saudi Arabia as a result of its media coverage of the protests in Iran, he praised in his speech the capabilities of Iran's arms in the region, including the Houthi militia in Yemen, which he claimed had reached a point where the other side surrendered, referring to the Saudi-led coalition.

The speech of the Iranian military commander, which clearly indicates that the militias are one of the regime's cards in its plans to target navigation, reinforces the information revealed by "Newsyemen" earlier this month about a meeting in Hodeidah Governorate, western Yemen, that included prominent military leaders of the Houthi militia with leaders of the Guard.  The Iranian Revolutionary and the Lebanese Hezbollah, in order to arrange terrorist operations against merchant ships passing through the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.

Arrangements seem to be approaching the stage of implementation in light of what the army spokesman revealed about the Houthi militia test-firing an anti-ship missile from Sanaa towards the Red Sea, which reflects the size of the risks that threaten international navigation in light of the apparent indolence on the part of Western countries to stand against it, despite the energy crisis it suffers from as a result of the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
