Aden, NewsYemen:

An official in the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, said that his group will re-launch missile attacks on Saudi territory, if the ongoing negotiations in Sana'a do not succeed.

Muhammad al-Bukhaiti, who was appointed by the Houthis to the position of governor of Dhamar, said on his Twitter account that "it is not possible to stop a war in which one of its parties insists on being a mediator," referring to the statement made by the Saudi ambassador to Yemen, Muhammad Al Jaber, from Sana'a.

The Houthi leader added: "If Saudi Arabia wants to play the role of mediator, then it should stop all its military operations in Yemen and lift its siege, and then we will welcome it as a mediator," as he put it.

And on Monday, the Saudi ambassador said that his meeting with Houthi officials, in the presence of a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman, in Sana'a, aims to "stabilize the armistice and cease-fire" in order to reach a "comprehensive and sustainable political solution" to the crisis in the country, which has been torn apart by war for many years.

He added on his Twitter account, "In continuation of the Kingdom's efforts to end the Yemeni crisis and in support of the initiative presented by the Kingdom in 2021, I am visiting Sana'a, in the presence of a delegation from the sisterly Sultanate of Oman."

He explained that the aim of his visit is to "stabilize the armistice and cease-fire, support the prisoner exchange process, and discuss ways of dialogue between the Yemeni components to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution in Yemen."

The Saudi ambassador to Yemen said: His country has stood for decades with Yemen "in the darkest circumstances and political and economic crises, and brotherly efforts have been continuing since 2011, to achieve the aspirations of the brotherly people of Yemen for the return of security, stability and economic prosperity."
