Aden, NewsYemen:

The Yemeni government accused the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - of refusing to deal with the issue of the release of the politician and leader of the Islah Party, Muhammad Qahtan, and denied the claim of the head of its negotiating delegation, describing it as "immoral."

A member of the government delegation, Majid Fadayel, said, "The government committee in the file of prisoners and abductees raised the issue of Muhammad Qahtan on the exchange table, but the Houthi militia is intransigent from the first moment regarding Qahtan in particular and refuses to deal with that."

He added, in a tweet on Twitter, "The stage of releasing the abductees went through multiple stages of negotiation, including that each party provides information about the situation of the prisoners and abductees to the Office of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, which the militias have so far rejected regarding Qahtan."  In addition to its acceptance of negotiation over it, as it falsely claims.

Fadael pointed out that "using twisted methods in statements and dealing with a humanitarian issue in this way is immoral."

I declare that the government team is fully prepared to exchange Qahtan immediately and without any delay, as well as Faisal Rajab and all the rest of the detainees on the basis that we clearly announce "all for all".

And on Friday, the head of the Houthi Prisoners Committee, Abdul Qadir Al-Murtada, said that the Qahtan issue was one of the nodes in the negotiations that took place in Switzerland, in which it was agreed on the exchange deal, the implementation of the first phase of which began.

He said, in a televised statement to Al-Masirah TV: "They asked for Muhammad Qahtan, so we informed the leadership. They said we have no objection to negotiating with him."  He pointed out, "When we opened the way for negotiations over Qahtan, we saw that the other party - that is, Islah - is not serious and dishonest."  As he says.
