Yemeni government: consultations for the exchange of prisoners with the Houthis on May 15

 On Sunday, the Yemeni government announced the launch of new consultations for the exchange of prisoners with the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - on May 15.

 This came according to a tweet by the spokesperson for the government delegation to the prisoners and abductees negotiations, Majed Fadayel, after the conclusion of the exchange of about 900 prisoners from both sides, in a process that lasted 3 days.

The government official said: "We are very keen to release all prisoners and detainees, under the rule of all for all without discrimination."

He added, "There is a close round of negotiations that will be on May 15, 2023, and we hope that they will be successful and fruitful."

He stressed that "the negotiating government delegation deals with the prisoners' file with full responsibility and commitment."

He continued, "The success of the exchange deal, which was concluded today, marks the beginning of the release of all prisoners, detainees, the disappeared, the abducted, and those placed under house arrest in the prisons of the Houthis."
