Quartet calls on Houthi militias to withdraw from al-Hodeida ports- Statement

The International Quartet goes beyond the unilateral drama withdrawal that carried out by the Houthi militias, affirming the full withdrawal of the armed militias on al-Hodeida seaports, citing the joint implementation of al-Hodeida agreement of the both parties to the conflict must be implemented.

The Committee members urged all the Yemeni parties to engage constructively with the Special Envoy in order to speed up the implementation of the agreements reached in Stockholm.

They called on the Houthis to provide full facilities to the UN mission in support of the implementation of al-Hodeida agreement, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the UN Verification and Inspection Mechanism; moreover, not impede or halt their tasks assigned to them.

The Quartet called upon the Yemeni parties to participate constructively in the Joint Redeployment Commission to accelerate the redeployment troops according to the agreement that included concept of operations and tripartite oversight, adding that there is a need for "constructive engagement in local security issues".

The Committee demanded the Houthi militias to fully withdraw from all the three seaports, al-Hodeida port, Ras Issa port and al-Salif port.

The committee said ' We expect the UN Security Council to review the progress in the agreement during its meeting on July, 17,".
