Authorities in Taiz halt military leaders over detainee's death at Police Headquarters

Authorities in Taiz province halted military police officers after a detainee was killed during an investigation into the military police headquarters by unknown gunmen.
Unidentified gunmen attacked a military police prison in Taiz city on Sunday evening and kill a soldier who was detained on charges of assassinations in the city.
The First Undersecretary of Taiz province AbdulQawi al-Makhlafi directed to halt the commander of Taiz Military Police, Chief of Military Police Staff, head of Police operations, the Intelligence branch, security officers, security guards, and investigation committee that have investigated with the prisoner, and detain them at the Military Intelligence.
According to the memo obtained by Newsyemen, al-Mekhlafi directed the commander of Taiz axis to form a committee to investigate the prisoner's death incident Methaq al-Aqel.
According to the sources, the soldier was immediately shot dead by gunmen amid violent clashes broken out after the attack happened among attackers and soldiers of the Military Police Headquarters.
The sources said that the dead prisoner was a solider at the 170th Air Defense Brigade who was accused of belonging to Daesh Organization.
