The former abductee Nashwan Moqbel Saif died after four months of his release by the Houthi militias, sources said on Wednesday.

His release before his death came amid the deteriorating his health condition at a Houthi prison.

Sources said the Houthi militias kidnapped Nashwan Moqbel Saif at a security checkpoint in January 2017 in al-Hawban area, east of Taiz city.

Nashwan, belongs to the marginalized class, was detained in al-Saleh city for three months, then the armed militias transferred him into Ibb city.

He was subjected to torture and electric shocks during the period of his detention.

The armed militias sprayed incendiary materials on his body and they also disabled his testicles.

The source pointed out that the abductee Nashwan Saif has been bedridden since his release in December 2018, and his health deteriorated due to liver cirrhosis, kidney failure, and chronic drought.
