Revenues of Private, Public Universities in Sana'a per year reach Y.R 5 billion

"The revenues of the Ministry of Higher Education are more than Y.R 5 billion (about 1 US$ against Y.R 500) from public and private universities, more than 20 universities, while revenues from Sana'a University alone amount to Y.R 3 billion per year, Aiban al-Qadasi at the Ministry's finance office said to Asharq al-Awsat Newspaper.

The University of Sana'a, for example, has more than 124 majors, divided into 14 colleges at Sana'a headquarters, and 10 sub-colleges, the total students at Sana'a 150,000 students.

"University revenues enough to cover the salaries of staff of Sana'a University , but we are surprised not to spend, and even the operational expenses have been stopped. Where do they go with all this money ?! ", referring to the Houthi militias controlled the Ministry,  Mohammed al-Sharfi, an employee at the Sana'a University said.
