Local sources in the capital Sana'a said the Houthi militias imposed new royalties on meat and butchers traders precipitously.

The Houthi militias, as part of their looting of people and merchants have appointed new supervisors at the entrances to the capital Sana'a, their task are to collect money on meat traders, and chicken traders.

The sources noted the supervisors impose Y.R 1,000  for each cow or sheep, while Y.R 5,000 is imposed for each truck carrying hens.

The sources said that the Houthi supervisors who are at the entrances of the capital Sana'a carry out a large-scale thievery and extortion in exchange for allowing the entry of livestock and hens, including imposing royalties.

Last week, the Houthi militias injured a meat dealer in al-Subaha area after he refused to hand over new royalties to the Houthi supervisor at Houthi checkpoint.

Then the meat traders went on a strike and protested against the Houthi measures over royalties.
