Food prices in Mocha increase on first day of Ramadan

Commodities and foodstuffs prices have doubled than their real value in Mocha markets in Mocha district in Taiz province in the first day of the holy month of Ramadan.
Citizens complained about the lack of vegetables, fruits and some foodstuffs and their depletion early on Monday, prompting some traders to take advantage of people's rush to doubling prices.
A Kilo of Tomatoes has increased from Y.R 300 to Y.R 500, and Yoghurt prices have increased from Y.R 300 to Y.R 400 to Y.R 500.
Ice prices jumped highly in the early month of Ramadan than previous month, where the ice sheet reached Y.R 5,000 compared to Y.R 2500 and Y.R 3,000 before the coming of the holy month.
Prices of goods and foodstuffs varied from place to place depending on the volume of supply and the intensity of demand.
