Al-Rayan International Airport is re-opened after being rehabilitated with UAE support

The local authority in Hadhramaut governorate, southeast of Yemen, reopened Al-Rayan International Airport after finishing it according to international standards with funding from the United Arab Emirates.


The governor of Hadramaut, Major General Faraj al-Bahsani, said during the re-launch ceremony that the resumption of navigation traffic at Al-Rayan International Airport in Mukalla and the opening of external lounges is a happy and joyful event for all the children of Hadramout, especially the patients who have endured the trouble of land trips to the cities of Sayun and Aden for more than four years.


He added that the airport's external lounges were established with high specifications and equipped with modern equipment to keep pace with the technological development in this field with the support of the UAE.


He pointed out that the resumption of flights, began with the landing of a Yemeni Airlines plane at the airport, stressing that the reopening of the airport will alleviate the suffering of patients and passengers in general, and will contribute to the revival of economic and tourist movement in the province.
