Saudi Army Brigadier General Hussein al-Shehri has called for the disbanding of the "national army", which is based on Yemeni legitimacy, starting with the current defense minister, Lt. Gen. Mohammed Ali al-Maqdashi.

The Saudi officer, said during a speech at a symposium of the Saudi Society for Political Science at King Saud University in Riyadh, on the recommendations and solutions of the Yemeni file, the current forces are ineffective, quoted by the Minister of Defense, said that 70% of the military are in homes.

Al-Shehri's demands included disbanding the Yemeni government in its entirety at home and abroad, and forming a national government in accordance with the Riyadh agreement.

He also called for curbing what he called "the influence of the Islah Party in the national army and the government and containing the Popular Congress Party," pointing out that those who will regain the plateau areas from the hands of the Houthi militia are Saudi Zaydi neighbors, he said.
