Campaign from the University of Aden against violence against women

Students of the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts at the University of Aden, on Monday 25 November 2019, organized an event to combat violence against women, in conjunction with the International Day.
The event was held under the slogan "No to violence against women", and participants raised orange badges symbolizing the fight against violence against women.
Siham Abdo Mohammed, explained to "Newsyemen", one of the organisers of the event, that the campaign aims to combat violence against women, especially after this phenomenon has become widespread in our society.
"Violence against women has become an unreasonably widespread and unacceptable phenomenon," she added. "This activity comes to express the voice of women and their absolute rejection of violence in all its verbal and physical forms."
A short film on “Marriage of Minors and Violence Against Women” was screened during the event, a move that reflected the rejection among young men and women university students of violence against women in general.
