A local source and eyewitnesses said that gunmen aboard crews belonging to the military police loyal to the Islah party kidnapped a group of women on Saturday after raiding houses in Al-Dhabab neighborhood in Sabr Al-Mawadim District in Taiz countryside, without any legal justification.

The source added, that the Al-Islah militants took the kidnapped women to the Criminal Investigation Prison in the city of Taiz, before they were transferred by the Brotherhood’s military leaders to the central prison, after fabricating the charge of “their loyalty to Houthis”

The source said, "The Brotherhood leaders have accused the kidnapped women from their families' homes in the Al-Dhabab area of communicating with the Houthis," adding that "the true reasons for their kidnapping and placing them in the central prison were not clear until this moment."

He pointed out that the military force came to Al-Dhabab area and raided the homes of those women on an official holiday (Saturday) and had no orders from the prosecution and the competent judicial authorities.

Whereas, a source close to the kidnapped women called for "the head of government and the Ministry of Human Rights to intervene immediately and release the detained women", calling on "civil society organizations and human rights organizations to act and pressure to stop violations of their right".
