On Monday, December 9, the National Meteorological Center announced a clearly defined low-pressure zone, located east-southeast of the Arabian Sea, close to a 10.28 north latitude and a longitude of 59.4 east.

"The atmospheric pressure zone is about 650 km away from the Socotra archipelago and there are forecasts within the next 12 hours to turn into an atmospheric depression," the center said.

The statement noted that "the accompanying weather, heavy low and medium clouds interspersed with violent to very violent thunderstormclouds."

"The accompanying wind is about 30 knots, the pressure is about 1000 millibars," he said.
