The Houthi militia imposed taxes on every transaction of any lawyer or legal guardian, in its areas of control.

According to an official note, the Houthi Tax Authority, in Sana'a, instructed the head of the Public Funds Court, not to accept any transaction for any lawyer or legal trustee until he reported paying the tax for each year.
Authority demanded that lawyers and legal trustees submit their tax returns, which are overdue for years.

Commenting on the Houthi move, lawyer Salah Ahmed Hamza said, on his Facebook account, "The tax authority inform you that the lawyers are not treated with public funds."
