Aden: The Teachers' Union refuses to settle the strike .. and "Education" cancels Saturday holidays

Official sources said that the leadership of the Ministry of Education met in Aden, on Monday, headed by Minister Dr. Abdullah Lemlis, and discussed the latest educational conditions in schools in the governorates of Aden, Lahj and Abyan, in light of the interruption of education in the schools of the three governorates due to the strike of teachers demanding their rights.

The meeting's outputs were canceling the Saturday holiday and considering it within the school days as compensation for the days that were stopped due to the strike.

While the Southern Teachers Union denied signing a final or initial agreement with the government, until the ministries of finance, civil service, and education are directed to settle the conditions of striking teachers by adopting teachers ’bonuses for the years 2014 to 2017 and start spending them next April in the 2020 budget, in addition to spending the nature of work for 2011 employees during July of this year.

The teachers' union blamed the government and its three ministries for disrupting the educational process and the consequences of the strike.

It is noteworthy that since the beginning of this year with the start of the second semester, the educational process in Aden and the neighboring governorates has been disrupted by calling the Southern Teachers Union to strike until they obtain their late financial dues since 2011.
