The Minister of Defense was injured and 10 of his companions were killed in an explosion in Marib

On Wednesday, Minister of Defense Staff General Muhammad Ali Al-Maqdashi was injured as a result of a landmine explosion targeting his car while he was inspecting the fighting fronts in Marib Governorate, east of Sanaa.
Military sources said that Minister Al-Maqdashi was slightly injured, as a result of a mine explosion and he was transferred for treatment at the Military Hospital in Marib city.
While more than a dozen of his companions were killed and others wounded, they were transferred to the same Ministry of Defense hospital.
Witnesses told Newsyemen that heavy guard was imposed on the military hospital in Marib, where the minister was transferred for treatment.
The sources indicated that the minister was accompanied by the commander of the third military zone, but did not provide information about his injury.
The explosion occurred while the Minister of Defense was on an inspection visit to the areas of Hailan and Al-Mashjah, in the Sarwah district, where violent battles are taking place with the Houthi militia, which extended its control over the outskirts of the Madghal district, located 25 km from the city of Marib.
