The Saudi Minister of State, for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, said, "Iran cannot have a role in Yemen, as it has caused destruction and devastation, and has not set a brick for building hospitals or schools."

This came during a press conference held by Al-Jubeir - on Wednesday - in Riyadh, with the participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, Anne Linde, referring to the role and efforts of the Kingdom of Sweden in relation to the Stockholm Agreement, peace operations and issues in the region.

The Saudi minister urged the Yemeni parties to fully implement the Stockholm Agreement and work towards a comprehensive political settlement in the country.

He added that his country is committed to a political solution in Yemen, especially as there is awareness among the Yemeni parties of the importance of resolving the conflict politically, and that the Yemeni people deserve a better future, and a better future can only be obtained if there is peace and reconstruction, according to the Saudi media.

Al-Jubeir affirmed the commitment of Saudi Arabia and the international community to Yemen receiving humanitarian assistance by opening as many paths as possible to provide aid and work towards a political settlement, he said.

He stressed the Kingdom's position on the "negative Iranian role, its support for terrorist organizations, the export of the revolution, and the destabilization of security" in the region.

He said, "Iran cannot have a role in Yemen, as it has caused destruction and devastation and has not laid a brick to build hospitals or schools in Yemen."
