Aden, NewsYemen:

The British "Guardian" newspaper reported, according to the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator, that there is a deal offered to the Houthis in exchange for stopping their attack on the city of Marib.

The Houthis can get a lot now, Mark Lowcock said, as the blockade of seaports and airports will be lifted, and there will be a ceasefire.

He also revealed that there is "clear recognition" that the Houthis will have a prominent role in the power-sharing government.

Lowcock said that there is a critical discussion within the Houthi movement about whether they should continue the Marib attack or whether they will now decide that they will accept the deal available to them.

Although Lowcock did not specify in his interview with the Guardian newspaper, the other party in this deal or who offered them to them, but a UN official revealed to NewsYemen that Britain was the one who offered them the deal through the mediation of the UN special envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths.

Lowcock urged all parties to reach a diplomatic settlement in Yemen, calling on the Houthis not to proceed with their current bloody attack on Marib.
