Aden, NewsYemen:

The US State Department renewed its call to end the conflict and achieve peace in Yemen, stressing that this will enable people to move freely, and allow the displaced to return to their homes to resume their normal lives.

The US State Department said, in statements published by the account of the Washington embassy in Yemen, on Twitter, "It needs to see a serious commitment by the Houthis to a ceasefire," as this will enable people to move freely, and allow the displaced to return to their homes to resume their normal lives.

It stressed that "Yemen needs peace now."

On Wednesday, the US envoy to Yemen, Timothy Lenderking, stressed the need for a "cease-fire to improve the humanitarian situation, in televised statements in which he discussed US and international efforts to help resolve the Yemen conflict, the urgent need for a ceasefire, and increased constructive participation and consensus to end the war."  .
