Aden, NewsYemen:

Carmela Godeau, Regional Director of the International Organization for Migration in the Middle East and North Africa, confirmed that the organization continues to monitor and respond to the situation in Marib, pointing to the ongoing Houthi escalation on the city.

Godeau said the escalation of fighting in Serwah has displaced more than 22,000 people since February.

More than 150,000 people have been displaced in Marib since the beginning of this year, when fighting first intensified.

The situation in Yemen remains the world's worst humanitarian crisis, with 24 million people in need of assistance, she added.

She stressed that the only solution to end the crisis in Yemen is a political solution, calling on behalf of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) all parties to the conflict to work together for real peace and an end to the conflict, adding, "Escalations - such as the one that occurred in Marib - must stop immediately."
