Private sources revealed details of fraud and corruption in the Ministry of Higher Education led by the Brotherhood's Minister, Khaled Al-Wasabi, with hundreds of millions of riyals.
The sources explained the details of the announcement of the so-called "Science and Development Conference in Yemen", which is funded by the Ministry in Malaysia with a budget of more than 200 thousand dollars, equivalent to 200 million riyals.
The sources said that the ministry assigned the task of organizing the conference to an organization called "Tawasol Development Association" led by a Brotherhood member called Daoud Al-Hadabi, who was appointed as the conference's president.
It pointed out that the Al-Hadabi Society was newly established, specifically on July 3, 2021 AD, less than a month before the conference was announced, under the name of serving scientific projects and helping the people of Yemen in Malaysia, while the truth is that its establishment came for the purpose of using the name and bank accounts to pass the Ministry's funds. for these fictitious projects.
The sources added, that the members of the so-called organizing committee of the conference are all members of the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen, most notably Daoud Al-Hadabi, Abdullah Al-Tifani, Hassan Al-Joshaee, Saad Al-Jamali, Muhammad Al-Rashidi and others, and all of them are from outside the Ministry of Higher Education with the exception of Abdullah Al-Tifani, who holds the position of cultural attache in Malaysia.
The sources revealed that a number of Yemeni researchers refused to participate in this conference for several reasons, foremost of which is their refusal to appoint Al-Hadabi at the head of the conference due to Brotherhood standards away from any scientific standards, stressing that he is the least published researcher and has a scientific balance in publishing, participating in scientific conferences and supervising student researchers.
They consider that the appointment of the man is clear evidence that the conference is just a fictitious activity with no meaning or scientific value and aims to loot the Ministry's funds, and their participation in the conference is a legitimization of the mess and corruption practiced by the Brotherhood.
The sources explained that the so-called Daoud Al-Hadabi is one of the leaders of the Brotherhood and previously worked as the president of the University of Science and Technology affiliated with the organization, and he has been residing in Malaysia for some time with a mission entrusted to him by the organization, which is to control and supervise student unions abroad to contain the voice of students and distract them from demanding their rights.
The sources pointed out that Daoud Al-Hadabi, who does not have any capacity or position in the Ministry of Higher Education, but that after Minister Al-Wasabi took over the Ministry of Higher Education, he had a great influence in the ministry, the last of which was the invention of this project without any value or practical goal for him except for the acquisition of his submitted budget From the ministry, estimated at $200,000.
