A human rights organization: 745 violations committed by the Houthis in Ibb during the first half of the year

On Wednesday, a human rights organization reported that it had documented more than 700 violations in Ibb governorate, which is under the control of the Houthi group, Iran's arm in Yemen.

In a report on the human rights situation in Ibb Governorate (central Yemen), the Al-Jind Organization for Human Rights confirmed that it "follows up with great concern the continuation of daily violations against civilians of all categories in Ibb Governorate, by the Houthis (the authority in control of the governorate)."

It said that it had monitored 745 violations, during the first half of this year, distributed between (killing, injury, kidnapping and torture in prisons, raids, incursions, looting, robbery of public and private property, attempts to sectarianize society, forced recruitment and other violations contained in the report).

The report revealed 325 violations against individuals, including 107 killings, including 5 women and 12 children, and 66 attempted murders, including 2 women and 4 children, the majority of which were shot by the Houthis and the chaos of arms in the governorate under the control of the Houthi group.

Violations against individuals included 103 cases of kidnapping and 49 attacks on physical integrity, all perpetrated by Houthi gunmen.

The report documented 116 serious crimes committed by the Houthi group during the period, including 4 cases of torture of abductees, and the recruitment of 112 children, the majority of whom were marginalized.

The organization monitored 304 crimes and violations committed by Houthi armed men against homes, institutions and property, which included raiding and looting (233) homes, shops and institutions, 20 cases of robbery and assault on the lands of citizens and state property, and 7 cases of confiscation of private properties, charitable and civil institutions, including a clinic, a library, an association and two homes, and 44  The case of the group's use of historical cultural and religious objects and government and educational facilities to perpetuate and spread its racist discourse and use them for mobilization and recruitment.

Al-Jund organization called on all relevant organizations and bodies to condemn the crimes that the Ibb governorate witnesses on a daily basis and in a horrific manner, and to work to convey the suffering of the victims to all relevant authorities.

The Houthi group demanded to stop the practice of these violations and to hold them legal and moral responsibility as a result of their continuation.

The organization confirmed that it will continue its work in monitoring crimes and revealing them to the public opinion, and victory for the victims, given that these crimes will not be subject to a statute of limitations.
