The Minister of Foreign Affairs discusses with his Saudi counterpart the situation of Yemeni expatriates

On Wednesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ahmed bin Mubarak discussed with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan the situation of Yemeni workers in the Kingdom, after the latter's undeclared decision to deport thousands of Yemeni expatriates.

The official Yemeni news agency "Saba" said that the foreign minister "reviewed with his Saudi counterpart the issues of Yemeni expatriates and the care they receive from their brothers in the Kingdom."

According to the agency, Minister Bin Mubarak stressed, during the meeting, the need to solve their problems and overcome the difficulties they face because of their importance as a vital economic tributary to Yemen and their contribution to providing for their families inside, especially in light of the current circumstances the country is going through.

Earlier, the Saudi authorities issued notices to large, medium and small institutions, companies and shops in the cities of (Jazan, Najran, Asir and Al Baha) to dismiss employees and workers of Yemeni nationality.

And the higher authorities in the Kingdom gave a maximum period of four months to dispense with Yemeni workers in the southern region of Saudi Arabia.

Saudi universities, institutions and hospitals have terminated the contracts of hundreds of Yemeni academics, doctors and professionals, as Najran University has dismissed about 106 Yemeni academics from faculty members, all of whom hold PhDs.
