Marib, NewsYemen:

Local sources reported a fraud operation against an arms dealer in Ma'rib Governorate, with an amount exceeding one million Saudi riyals, after which local officials from Al-Bayda Governorate were arrested, participating in the operation.

The sources said that the so-called Walid Ahmed Saleh Abdullah (accused of previous fraud) deluded Musaad Al-Salahi, Director-General of the Nati District, and Muhammad Al-Jabri, Director-General of Al-Tafa District, that he had a shipment of weapons he wanted to sell.

It explained that local officials informed an arms dealer of the existence of the arms shipment, so he held a meeting at the Twenty Four Hotel in the city of Ma'rib to agree on completing the deal, where Walid asked them to pay a deposit under the pretext of transporting the shipment costs and guaranteeing the sale process.

added that the accused received the sum of one million and two hundred thousand Saudi riyals from the merchant through the brokers, and he immediately vacated the hotel in which he lives and fled.
