The Gulf Cooperation Council agreed to support 3 vital sectors in Yemen

The funding bodies represented at the Yemeni Gulf Technical Committee meeting, Monday evening, agreed to support three vital sectors in Yemen: electricity, water, and health.

This came in a meeting held at a Yemeni request to discuss possible ways to support urgent and urgent needs, which included the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Waed Bathib, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Awaisheq, and the Director of International Relations at the Bahraini Ministry of Finance Firas Al Khalifa.

The meeting approved the agreement setting a date for holding sectoral meetings between donors, ministries and technical bodies in Yemen to discuss reallocation and support the urgent priority sectors, especially the energy, water and sanitation sectors.

The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council states that the printing of 70 million copies of textbooks with Saudi and Kuwaiti funding is underway, and the printing of electronic books with Saudi funding is being provided.  Noting that coordination is currently underway to arrange Yemen's accession to the Gulf Standardization and Standardization Organization.

It called on the Republic of Yemen to provide all details of the existing projects that are required to be resumed, funded by the GCC states and their affiliated institutions, and reports on the urgent development needs of the various sectors.
