Sana'a, NewsYemen:

Sadiq Amin Abu Ras, a leader in the leadership of the General People's Congress Party in Sana'a, complained about what he described as media terrorism waged by the Houthi militia against the party and its leaders in Sana'a four years ago.

He said in a public event, on Tuesday, August 24, in Sana'a, that they (the Houthis) started talking about the presidency, and he said in a colloquial tone: "The presidency is not a gift and no one has given my hand to one, nor does anyone say this is a president and this is not a president."

In an indication of what appeared to be stormy differences between the two parties, Abu Ras indicated that "the presidency of the republic is granted by the Yemeni people, and that the presidency of the republic is achieved through elections and funds, not through heredity."

It was remarkable that Abu Ras was keen to confirm the identity of the Yemeni conference, as he confirmed the emergence of the conference from the Yemeni people "and not through any foreign or foreign blocs, methodologies, or literature."

He said: "This is a Yemeni popular political organization that emanates from the Yemeni soil, and is present in every Yemeni village, in every Yemeni isolation, in every Yemeni city," adding: "It is not ideological and does not adopt the theory, whether it is nationalist, Marxist, Leninist or sectarian."

In what is considered an implicit criticism of the extent of Iranian interference in Sanaa, the Sana’a conference said in a statement that it “was and will remain a popular and popular organization of Yemeni origin and desire, rejecting all forms of employment and association with the outside in any form, and this is a betrayal of the principle of loyalty and national belonging.”
