Shabwa, NewsYemen, private:

Local sources in Shabwa told NewsYemen that the Houthi militia has raised the price of a domestic gas cylinder in Baihan districts to 10,000 riyals when buying with banknotes of the new edition, while selling one cylinder for 4,000 riyals in the old edition.

The sources added that the Houthi militia also raised the value of the telecommunications, landline and Yemen Mobile bills in the three districts, taking advantage of the people's lack of old banknotes, since the area fell under its control only four weeks ago.

It explained that the Houthi militia is seeking, by raising the price of cooking gas cylinders, and telecommunications and internet bills, in the new currency issued by the Central Bank in Aden, to achieve high material gains, as well as forcing citizens to get rid of them and replace them with old papers.
