A wounded army officer in the Taiz axis, who is in India, set fire to his injured leg, after the Wounded Committee refused to pay the necessary costs to complete the treatment.

Activist and writer Arwa Al-Shamiri said that the wounded Muhammad Riyad burned his foot so that it would not remain suitable for treatment, so it was amputated and thus gets rid of the pain after neglecting of the wounded committee to treat him.

She indicated that the wounded Muhammad Riyad has been in India for three years, and the committee for the wounded in Taiz has not completed his treatment or transferred to him and his companions what to fill their hunger and protect them from threats of expulsion from housing in India.

Al-Shamiri said: "After Muhammad Riadh tired of appealing to the wounded committee, he is burning his foot so that his message and voice may reach President Hadi and save him from the war merchants who trade in the issue of the wounded politically."

She concluded by saying: "Where are the trumpets of the headquarters (the Brotherhood) and the association of the wounded, why keep silent about the conditions of the wounded? Or is it necessary for the Congress party to celebrate to hear their screams and their false fear and concerns about the wounded.”
