Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Tribal sources in Sana'a Governorate said that disputes arose between the leader of the Houthi militia, who is the governor of the province, Abdulbasit Al-Hadi, and some sheikhs and tribal leaders against the background of the conflict over land and property belonging to the sheikhs.

According to the sources that spoke to NewsYemen, the Houthi governor, Abdulbasit Al-Hadi, issued directives to stop the sale and purchase procedures that took place in some of the lands belonging to some sheikhs and tribal leaders in the districts of Al-Haima Al-Dakhiliya and Al-Haima Al-Kharejiah, with the justification that they are lands belonging to the endowments, which angered those leaders and sheikhs who considered the procedures The Houthi governor declared it a form of theft and plundering of their lands and properties that they have the right to dispose of in any way.

According to the sources, the Houthi governor threatened the sheikhs in the districts of Al-Haima Al-Dakhiliya and Al-Haima Al-Kharejiah and threatened them with arrest by the intelligence services on charges of cooperating with the coalition after they held a tribal meeting during which they threatened that they would defend their properties and would stand up to any measures to prevent them from selling or disposing of them by the Houthi militia authorities.

Pointing out that the governor’s practices against them were caused by their rejection of the extortion operations that he practices against them and his insistence on obtaining a percentage of the value of the lands they sold to some traders.

The sources indicated that some social figures who are affiliated with the Houthi militia are trying to mediate the matter to calm the dispute by persuading the sheikhs to accept the arbitration of the militia leader, Muhammad Ali al-Houthi, to resolve the differences between them and the governor.

It is noteworthy that many accusations have been directed against the Houthi leader appointed as governor of Sana'a governorate, Abdulbasit Al-Hadi, of practicing corruption and looting by exploiting his position to steal funds allocated for the implementation of some projects, as is the case with the deal of purchasing cleaning equipment in the name of the governorate at an amount of one billion and one hundred million riyals, which sources in the local authority in the governorate confirmed It is nothing but a corruption deal in which the Houthi governor, Abdul Basit Al-Hadi, is personally involved.
