Taiz, NewsYemen, special:

Electric power stations in the city of Taiz, which is under the control of the security and military forces loyal to the Islah party, raised the electricity tariff for subscribers to one thousand riyals per kilo.

Local residents in the city of Taiz complained to NewsYemen that the stations selling commercial electric power raised the price of one kilowatt, which reached 1,000 riyals.

They explained that the station owners were not satisfied with raising the tariff rate only, but also threatened home and shop owners to disconnect the service in the event that the bill was not paid two days after its delivery.

They pointed out that the power plants used to receive two bills per month for each consumer, and today consumers are restricted and receive three bills, which means a bill every ten days.

The people accuse leaders of the local authority and the leadership of the Taiz military axis, which is loyal to the Islah party, the political arm of the “Brotherhood” organization, of imposing illegal levies and sharing half the value of a kilowatt with the owners of electric power stations, which doubles the suffering of the citizens.

The increase in the electricity tariff comes with the passing of the blessed month of Ramadan, in which the population’s food needs double, in light of the obscene rise in food and medicine prices, the complete absence of the local authority, and the increase in the collections and royalties of the Popular Mobilization militia affiliated with the Islah Party.

Earlier, citizens accused leaders in the Taiz military axis of stealing electricity generators belonging to government, educational and judicial headquarters and using them commercially for their benefit after the government electricity service was suspended about eight years ago.
