Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

The Tehran regime has intensified its full efforts in recent years to deliver the largest amount of weapons and other types of ammunition and materials to the terrorist Houthi group, Iran's arm in Yemen, through international and regional waters.

This came through a wide network of smugglers, in conjunction with its continued preservation of its share of the pie in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq, where its cells and ideological and political arms are active. The expansion of the conflict and the intervention of America, Russia and Turkey contributed to the consolidation of Iranian thought and approach.

According to reports, the matter went beyond smuggling weapons to smuggling experts and equipment needed to manufacture long-range missiles, drones, and control of the communications network, which gave them a great advantage in battles, and is still up to this moment.  Not to mention the doctrinal influence and the dissemination of Twelver thought.

Qassem Soleimani, the octopus of military operations in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and Lebanon, was killed by a US air strike in 2020 as he was leaving Baghdad airport.  The leader who was believed to be the actual ruler of the four capitals that the Iranian regime has always bragged about overthrowing.  It was a strong blow to the Revolutionary Guard, albeit a little late. However, it did not meet the aspirations of the affected Arabs and did not change much on the ground, even with the mysterious death of (Hassan Erlo), Tehran’s ambassador in Sana’a.

Papers for pressure and bargaining

At times, the Iranian regime tried to deny the existence of any support through speeches and some statements, but in return it was revealing some of its goals during the negotiation of the nuclear file, as if it was using these areas in which it installed arms and allies to pressure the region and the West for bargaining.

Thus, Tehran was able to pass many cards and use time for its benefit and for the benefit of the Houthi coup group, which expanded at the expense of legitimacy, the fabric of society, its structure, its diversity, and even its religious faith, which was crowded out by many myths and exaggerated beliefs.

The flow of weapons continued, and the US and British navies, the Arab coalition forces, and the joint forces, including the Republican Guards, revealed many deals and cells that were like a spider web recruited by the militia in their favour.

While the militia used to say that it does not need weapons since 2015, the beginning of the war, and that it is self-sufficient and manufactures, but that was just a display of capabilities and capabilities, and no more, as deals at sea kept coming from all directions.

Tehran has from time to time denied its connection to any military support, even during the implementation of operations by the Arab coalition at sea and the confiscation of large quantities of weapons and the investigation of their owners and their destination.

Experts confirm Iran's support

Security Council experts have strengthened Iran's support for the Houthi militia, in light of the attacks it is carrying out on Riyadh and Abu Dhabi;  This also confirms the presence of experts from the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iran.

Reports to the British Independent had indicated that there are two tracks that appeared in 2019 that may constitute a violation of the ban. The first is “the transfer of commercially available spare parts in industrialized countries,” such as drone engines, which are delivered to the Houthis through a group of intermediaries. The second track is in  The Houthis continue to deliver machine guns, bombs, anti-tank missiles, and more advanced cruise missile systems.”

In their reports, the experts added that these weapons have technical characteristics similar to weapons made in Iran, which were sent through a smuggling route that passes through the Sultanate of Oman and the southern coast of Yemen, through areas under the control of the Yemeni government, to Sanaa and Houthi-controlled areas.

The Arab coalition, the US Navy and others have previously shown pictures of large quantities of qualitative and conventional weapons, night and day scopes, anti-thermal equipment, devices for directing unmanned aerial vehicles, "Drones", electrical parts for remote detonation, and dozens of snipers.

Weapons and withdrawal of legitimate forces

In addition to the huge warehouses of the state that have been seized by the Houthi group since 2014 and what is being smuggled, it has benefited from the withdrawal of the legitimate forces, which left behind a lot of weapons and ammunition, especially on the fronts of Marib and Sanaa.

Al-Mahra Governorate, in eastern Yemen, remained a focal point for launching by land and sea, where many shipments were discovered in 2020, which were certainly on their way to Al-Houthi, which was noticed by some of the legitimacy leadership.

What was seized in the same year and before that in 2019 by the US Navy, according to information, were about 150 "Dehlavieh" anti-tank missiles (ATGM), which are Iranian copies of the Russian Kornet missiles, in addition to other Iranian-made weapons components.

So, all these truces that the Houthi militia resort to today with the help of the United Nations, gives it more opportunities to continue smuggling weapons through the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean from South America, Iran and Africa.  In addition to halting the complete liberation of Hodeidah Governorate through the Stockholm Agreement 2018, giving the group a large space for military and political action and receiving logistical support that exhausted the Yemeni reality without taking into account the sponsoring parties and their continuation of giving Houthi more opportunities.
