Aref Al-Salwi, a young man from Taiz governorate, left his family behind and carried a gun and a shroud, to participate in the battle of fate with the Houthi militia, but he was rewarded with imprisonment twice.
The family of the forcibly disappeared young man, Aref Sharaf Saeed Al-Selwi, 42, told NewsYemen: Aref left everything; His children, his family, his job, and he joined the ranks of the resistance and the army, in order to preserve the republic and the military honor that he swore upon graduating from the police school in the occupied capital, Sana’a.
Aref is the son of the military establishment and the Yemeni armed forces, and despite his job in the Criminal Investigation Department in the city of Taiz, he was the man of the fronts with the rest of his comrades, carrying the honor of the military.
Al-Makhfi’s family adds: On July 4, 2016, he was kidnapped for the first time, along with his two companions, Muhammad Khalil and Amer Kulaib, in the Al-Jaheem market, and he was detained in the Taiz governorate building in the Al-Ashraf basin area, which is under the control of Professor Yahya Al-Rimi impersonating a colonel and the moral guidance pillar in the Taiz axis and the commander of the eastern sector in the 22nd Brigade. MICA is under the control of the Islah party, the Muslim Brotherhood branch in Yemen.
His two companions were released and transferred to Al-Nahda School Detention Center. He was detained for more than a week, so that mediation intervened and he was released on the condition that he not participate in the fronts and work in the Criminal Investigation headquarters in Taiz.
No one knows the reasons for his abduction except that he is one of the soldiers on the fronts and the son of the military establishment.
Aref left the city towards his village in the Al-Silw district, fearing arrest or assassination. Until June 3, 2017, he returned to Taiz to receive his salary from the Exchange Committee in Al-Murour district, in the middle of the 26th of September school.
His companion, Abdul Jabbar, says that the last call was on June 3, 2017, and told him that he was at the September 26 School, opposite the Swedish Training Center, which the Brotherhood military authority uses as a military barracks.
Aref was arrested from the salary queue and hidden in secret prisons. All accusations refer to the armed Muslim Brotherhood in Taiz and the military governor of Taiz, as he was previously kidnapped by Yahya al-Rimi.
The Al-Salawi family confirms that their son has been searched for in all security and military agencies and institutions and government prisons, but everyone denies his presence in their prisons.
The Al-Salwi family indicated that one of the commanders at the military police headquarters, called "A.A.Sh," asked the family for a commercial guarantee to get their son out of one of the secret prisons of the Islah Party, and after providing the guarantee, he evaded his promise.
The Al-Salwi family continues their conversation: Aref is a member of the Criminal Investigation Department, and his last assignment was the research representative at Al-Shamasi department in the city of Taiz, but the family was surprised when they asked the investigation department to reveal the fate of their son, but their response was to ignore.
She said that the CID must search for the fate of one of its members.
Al-Salwi is a father of five children and comes from a simple family that does not have the ability to follow up and search for the fate of her son, and contented herself with submitting reports to the official authorities.. As for the Association of Abductees' Mothers in Taiz, it only cares about the abductees and forcibly disappeared people who belong to Al-Islah.
Al-Salwi's family appealed to everyone who has the ability to say and do to work hard to find out the fate of her son.
The family also appeals to the Minister of Interior and the leadership and members of the Presidential Council to look into the file of secret prisons in the sector of the city of Taiz, to reveal the fate of the forcibly disappeared, to release the abductees unjustly and arbitrarily, or to prosecute them if they are guilty publicly.
